J.K. Rowling to Receive French Legion of Honor Award Tomorrow
February 02, 2009, 02:50 PM
Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling will be receiving one of the highest honors from France, it was announced today. The office of Nicolas Sarkozy, President of France, has announced they will be presenting JKR with "les insignes de Chevalier de l’ordre de la Légion d’honneur" (the Legion of Honor) tomorrow, February 3 at the Palace Elysee in Paris France. Congratulations Jo!
We are working to learn more about this and will update when we can.
Thanks much Alejandro!
And Sarkozy’s gonna be the one to give her that i suppose. urgh =.= Umbridge whould give dumbledore an order of merlin, it would be merrier XD ok, i exaggerate but, well…
Don’t get me wrong, i’m glad she’s getting la Légion d’Honneur but i really can’t picture Sarkozy and Rowling in the same room. The one is the anti-thesis of the other. I bet they’ve decided to use her image to mimick Barack Obama’s opinion or, better, to feed the journalists other headlines than “oh noes, there are strikes all across the country, how sad is that”
Sorry to get political and all but well. Why do they do it now, seriously? i can’t help but think it’s another dailyprohetcrap-like operation =.=
@jessh324 She did study French at university though. Admittedly, this doesn’t make her a French citizen, but appreciation of culture etcetera may make her more favourable in France’s eyes.
